LGod always provides armor for His people. Abraham perhaps thought, What if Chedorlaomer comes after me? I’m just one man! It’s been ten years since I’ve entered Canaan. I haven’t gained one inch of territory. There is not one sign of a child! Nothing has happened that God foretold. What if that wasn’t God I was hearing? In response, God says, “I am your shield! Snap out of it, son!” He is saying, “I will protect you so long as you stay close to me.” So despite difficult and overwhelming circumstances, Abraham made a huge choice. He chose to believe.
