Will we be married in heaven? The answer is both yes and no. In heaven you will still have many of the relationships you enjoyed on earth. You will receive a glorified body, relocate to heaven, and ultimately move to the new earth; but none of that will erase history. In fact, the whole sweep of events will culminate history. We can’t take material things with us, but we will take relationships with us to heaven. You won’t be married to your spouse in heaven, but you will be married to the Lord, because the Bible describes us as the bride of Christ. We will join our eternal bridegroom in heaven. So in that sense, there is marriage in heaven. Your relationship with your spouse will not end, even though you won’t be husband and wife. But you will enjoy a glorious, perfected relationship (Matt. 22:30). For more about Heaven, see Gen. 24:7.
